Windows Essential Business Server（原代號為Centro）是微軟為中型企業設計的伺服器解決方案（最多支持300個用戶或設備）。

它於2008年9月16日被發布給製造商，並將於2008年11月12日正式發布。

概述

Windows Essential Business Server基於Windows Server 2008，它有兩個版本：標準版和高級版。據微軟稱，標準版包括三個安裝了Microsoft Exchange Server 2007、Microsoft System Center Essentials、Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server和Forefront Threat Management Gateway的標準版Windows Server 2008。高級版在標準版的基礎上增加了一個標準版Windows Server 2008和一個標準版Microsoft SQL Server 2008。

據微軟稱，Windows Essential Business Server有一個管理控制台。這個管理控制台能監控客戶機和伺服器。第三方軟體同樣能在這個控制台內呈現一個面向該軟體自身的管理界面。Computer Associates和Symantec將會將這個管理控制台分別用於它們的CA ARCserve Backup、Symantec Backup Exec和Symantec Endpoint Protection。Windows Essential Business Server還包括Remote Web Workplace——一個使得IT技術支持人員能輕而易舉地建立起安全性增強的遠程訪問的功能。
